If you’re looking to purchase a house in California, you may have to settle for less grass around your property.
The green front lawn may be just as much a staple as the white picket fence, but due to water restriction set forth by the California Water Commission, homeowners in the state will be limited to featuring a limited amount of grass.
“The California Water Commission in July adopted water limits that eliminate grass from new office and commercial buildings, and reduce the amount used at new homes from one-third of the landscaped area to 25 percent.”
This limitation is in place to help conserve water in light of the ongoing water crisis and drought.
There is, however, a way around this limitation – because artificial grass doesn’t require water, some residents have been able to bring their dream home to life without limitation by the state. Learn more about the benefits of artificial grass if you’re in the market.
