Sacramento has long been against artificial grass, but the city is reconsidering in light of the ongoing drought.
In 2015, Governor Brown signed a law that made a ban against artificial grass illegal – even for residential areas managed by homeowners associations. As the tables have turned, homeowners have discovered a new way to save money month after month.
A few of these savings can be found in the following areas:
- No lawn irrigation
- No lawn mowing and trimming
- No lawn fertilization
- No lawn sodding
- No pest control (raccoons, gophers, and other pests that dig into lawn)
Tony Skelnik, General Manager at Artificial Grass Liquidators, said today’s products are completely different from the ones made 30 years ago. Not only are the new materials environmentally friendly but they’re preferred over grass by many homeowners in the area.
