Californians Look to Artificial Grass for Drought Relief

In light of the ongoing drought, Californians are looking to artificial grass for drought relief.

Natural grass requires water to stay healthy, but the state of California set forth strict water restrictions that result in expensive fines if broken. So while some homeowners strive to maintain the health of their lawn the best they can, it’s an uphill battle and often results in browning lawn anyway.

For those that have given up on maintaining their lawn, artificial grass may be the best solution for them. It doesn’t require water like natural grass and the maintenance required is minimal.

 

Artificial grass is flourishing as an option for drought-stricken lawns and as a way to bring nature indoors today. As California and other western U.S. states endure a severe lack of rain, one report says faux turf sales have grown 50% as a non-watered lawn alternative.

Plots of artificial grass have also sprouted inside as a hot, modern design option.
